Reciprocate Southern hospitality
I have attended a number of Boston College's away football games over the past 15 years. I feel compelled to share an experience I had last year at Clemson. My young Eaglets and I, decked out in maroon and gold, were prepared to be heckled and harassed by the host fans, such as what happened to us at West Virginia, Michigan State, and Notre Dame in years past.
Amazingly, we Eagles were welcomed in incredibly warm fashion by so many. We were repeatedly stopped as we walked and offered welcoming handshakes, and after the game, congratulations on our win.
Clemson will be visiting the Heights on Saturday. Please, let's offer them some of the warmth we have developed to get us through the long northern winters and an occasional obscure frigid bowl game.

Rethink the football schedule
Has anyone asked what the University strategy is putting Buffalo and CMU on the football schedule? Who was responsible for scheduling Buffalo? Like we need to play in Buffalo, N.Y. to aid our recruitment efforts? I would suggest a more strategic scheduling of opponents such as Vanderbilt, Stanford, Northwestern, and Rice.
Playing schools of the same caliber as Boston College and from various parts of the country will give greater exposure to BC and directly benefit its ability to recruit both athletes and academically qualified students nationally.
