Jack Bauer once reigned supreme as primetime television's tragic hero. But after 24's season seven postponement, and the arrest and subsequent jail time of the once-revered Kiefer Sutherland, a new hero has emerged and his name is Sayid Jarrah.

Naveen Andrews may not play the most recognizable character on Lost, as that distinction would likely go to Matthew Fox's Jack, but he is certainly the most badass. The creatively recharged fourth season has finally put Andrews back in the limelight, complete with the intrigue and mystery he deserves. While season one of Lost introduced Sayid as a member of the Iraqi National Guard with a tortured past who turns into an island savior, seasons two and three somehow subdued Sayid to a lover and useless island entity. Season four, however, has changed it up, revealing the Iraqi as not only one of the Oceanic 6, but as a future cohort of the show's ambiguous villain, Ben. He has started taking up his old ways again, squelching each threat with a fatal blow or leg twist. What could be more heroic than that?
