What a week it has been with crazy Halloween sightings and riots in the streets of Boston. Oh, and it's nearly impossible to study now that we've finished midterms, too. You might feel like you've hit a wall for the semester but never fear. Think of the great time at The Wall (or wherever you inhabited this summer), mix up a frozen treat and you'll be back on top in no time. So in honor of hurdling over that mid-semester wall, I give you The Wall.
This drink is tasty yet deceptively strong, a common theme in my beverages. If you're sick of paying $7.50 for a weak drink at a sketchy bar, mix this up at home with some friends and get ready to party. If you're using this for a pre-game, I'd only have one or two cups or your party will end by 11 p.m. - kind of like the America Party.
Grab your blender and three hurricane glasses, or solo cups. Pour ice, vodka, and frozen strawberries into the blender and hit puree. When they ice has begun to liquefy, pour in ginger ale and lemonade mix. Blend until smooth. This drink is pretty sweet - you won't even notice the vodka. That's what makes it so dangerous.
Since this beverage was concocted at The Wall, there are no other versions to speak of. Another drink once resembling jungle juice was made in a 50-quart. Coleman cooler on wheels. Add one handle of vodka, one 30 rack, and one package of Kool-Aid and the fun won't stop. You can even double the recipe and wheel the cooler around the party if you'd like. To be on the safe side, have The Wall this week and toast to whatever troika you choose to share it with. Drink Up!
