Like many young girls, I was once forced to take ballet. Luckily, my brothers convinced me that my lack of natural talent and predisposition toward baseball meant that I should quit. After only two and a half years of tap, jazz, and ballet, I was out of there, but there are still some dedicated dancers that I know and love, and in their honor, I give you JuJu's TuTu.
Who is JuJu? No, she's not Marissa Cooper's mother, the confectionary treat of awkward consistency, or even the West African tribe. She's someone way cooler than any of those. Want to know why they call it a tutu? Well I couldn't tell you, but suspicions say it's probably because of tulle, the fabric from which they're often made. I prefer the theory that it comes from a French colloquialism for "bottom" or "backside," because it tends to cover that. Either way, JuJu's TuTu is a sweet, pink drink that everyone loves.
Grab your old-fashioned glass and moisten the rim with a lemon wedge. Dip it in sugar or a sweet rim mix to give the glass a little sparkle. Pour all the ingredients into a shaker with ice, mix, and strain into the glass. Garnish with the lemon wedge - aww, how cute.
If you don't like JuJu, then you're crazy; but if you're not a fan of rum, try it with vodka instead. I bet my roommate would recommend raspberry Rubi, but go top shelf if you want. This pink drink will have you dreaming of summer and singing country tunes in no time. Cheers to my favorite princess and drink up.
