Have you ever seen those little caution men creeping around with red hats and flags? Back in my hometown, we made a sport of moving them. Sometimes we would simply move them further down the street, sometimes we would move them to the backs of our cars. In honor of one of my favorite pastimes, I give you the Caution Man.
Before you judge, think about the benefits: You've got a sweet spot at the home football game, but you're freezing. It's halftime and you want a hot chocolate from Dunkin so bad. Go to your car, put your Caution Man in your space, and take off. He's guaranteed to be there when you get back. The only downside was that my parents found one and gave it to the neighbors. They'd always ask how I got it, but the first rule of Fight Club is don't talk about Fight Club. We were covert, we would scope out the area and go back at night when we were bored and had nothing to do but drive around. Nowadays we've got plenty to do, whether it's group projects at 10 p.m. or dancing on stage at Wonder Bar with a Long Island iced tea, our nights seem to be all booked up. So in the spirit of the latter, I give you an L.A. twist on the LI Iced Tea…
Add all ingredients in equal parts to a tall glass over ice. Stir it up and maybe even take a seat. Sip casually and don't forget to proceed with caution, man. If you read through the ingredients, you'll know that this trick isn't for kids.
While sipping this bev, I like to listen to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up." By the time you're done with it, you're going to want to Rick Roll your way down to the Mods. Don't know Rick or the Roll? Then check the blog (www.hurricanejane.com). So stir it up, brace yourself, and … Drink Up!
