Welcome back, celebrity gossip junkies! It has been a long and rather uneventful summer. Everyone has apparently put their insane behavior on hold for one common goal: expanding the human race. It seems as though anybody who is anybody either had or is expecting a child in the upcoming months. Let's quickly run through the important arrivals, because there are far too many to track them all.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt blessed the world with their twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon on July 12. Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren welcomed daughter, Honor Marie. About two weeks later, the little Spears sister, Jamie-Lynn, had daughter Maddie Briann. On July 7, both Levi McConaughey and Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban debuted. Matt Damon and wife Lucia added another daughter, Gia, to their family. But count on rockers Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale to come up with the most original name: Zuma Rocker Rossdale arrived on Aug. 21.
A whole new crowd of celebrities is expecting babies before the year is up. Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz are 90 percent sure a boy will be joining them around Thanksgiving. Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell will have their hands full with twin girls in December. Violet Affleck will become a big sister later this year when mom Jennifer Garner welcomes her second child with Ben. Even though there has been no formal announcement, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are giving 1-year-old son Alexander a sibling later this year. The big bump she has been toting around NYC lately has given her away. And finally People reported on Tuesday that Usher and wife Tameka Foster are expecting a second child. The couple welcomed son Usher Raymond V this past November.
Phew! I think that is pretty much everyone. Well, almost everyone. The rumor mill has been churning lately with rumblings that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are expecting. While rehearsing for the Broadway production of All My Sons, Holmes has walked to work in multilayer outfits despite the 80 degree temperatures. And, I absolutely see a bump. I have to admit, I hope they are expecting because Suri is the cutest child ever and God knows we can never have enough babies in Hollywood.
