There's something in the air and in my lungs, an indefinable presence that is increasing every day. Maybe it's how badly I miss Chipotle and its free burrito deals or perhaps it's the cherry blossoms that I hope will bloom over spring break. And all that talk about Washington, D.C. being the nation's murder capital? Blah, blah, blah: I miss the place. Ergo, I have to give a shout-out to Breach, which just so happens to be a decent, respectable movie. It's refreshing to know that there are still good actors and actresses in Hollywood; Chris Cooper and Laura Linney exemplify true talent. Go see them in anything they are in (for the most part). What makes Breach particularly appealing is that it's based heavily on a true story about an FBI agent spying for the Soviet Union. Cooper plays Robert Hanssen, a spy who infiltrates the highest levels of the government to relay national secrets to the KGB. Cooper has a knack for playing crazy people well so it's very fitting that Hanssen was quite the sketch-fest in real life. Laura Linney, it's up to you to bring this Soviet mole to justice. She serves as the spearhead of the internal investigation into Hanssen, and gets a green, innocent agent to play go-between. This is, of course, Ryan Phillippe, but we're not going to concern ourselves with him. Give Breach a chance. I mean, why not? Are you actually going to see Ghost Rider or that new Hugh/Drew romance instead? Don't you dare see Norbit again. Breach has got the action, the intrigue, and the District. What more do you need?
