Spring has thankfully arrived, and not a minute too soon. Baseball is underway, birds are out doing their thing, and the awful spring movie season has started churning out mediocre gems. With the exception of Spider-Man 3, this time of year is so deplorable for films that Kickin' It Old Skool will probably take the no. 1 spot at the box office.
One would have thought that Jamie Kennedy would have given up on acting by now. I'm not even really talking about his comedy/stand-up either; his movies are just so awful that it must be difficult for his own family to look him in the eye and say, "We're proud." It's someone of his acting abilities that gets offered roles like Son of the Mask and, what's worse, someone like him who accepts them.
In case you were wondering, Kickin' It Old Skool is a reworked version of Malibu's Most Wanted. Kennedy is still convinced that the equation of suburban white boy earnestly trying to make it as a cool hip-hop artist/rapper equals comedic gold. Basically, he needs to break dance to stay true to himself and to save the day for his financially strapped parents.
This is so utterly painful. This should be offensive to everyone who watches this. The only way Kennedy could ever make this up to me would be to deliver a Slurpee to my doorstep in the next 10 minutes. Time is ticking …
