Recently-opened Tango Mango in Newton Centre has a slogan that reads, "a taqueria like no other." It seems, however, that the slogan would be more apt to read, "a taqueria very similar to another." As soon as you take a look at Tango Mango's menu, filled with reasonably-priced Mexican offerings, it will probably remind you of the popular Coolidge Corner destination, Anna's Taqueria.

One big difference, however, is location. Within walking distance from Newton and Upper Campus in the warmer months, Tango Mango may actually be easier to get to than Anna's. If you do venture over, expect to be immediately perked up by the bright and cheerful décor, hot pink booths and multi-colored paintings and tables.

Try the "Big Fajita Burrito" ($6.95), a 12-inch flour tortilla stuffed with chicken, steak, or pork, sautéed peppers and onions, beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and hot sauce. For the carbohydrate-haters out there, try a Fiesta Salad ($4.95) with crispy iceberg lettuce, salsa fresca, and grilled meats.

In any case, try something; it feels good to cheer for the underdog once in awhile. B
