With a name like Great Scott, this was a bar that I had to give a chance. My mom is obsessed with everything Scottish, and she was actually the one to point it out to me. When your mom tells you to go to a bar, you go. Also, I love to dance - most of the time it's off beat but can still be construed as dancing. The music this particular evening was brought to us by the creative DJ stylings of a good friend. I just couldn't say no. Upon arriving, I knew this was a solid choice. The bar was packed, but the majority of the people were on the dance floor. They weren't all dancing, but the dance floor was the place to be. This is always a good sign. With a funky blend of Jock Jams, techno, and hyphy music, you can't help but dance. Soon enough, you could feel the floor vibrating. After dancing up a storm, it was time to meet the bartender. Cold, delicious, and crisp hard cider seemed appropriate for being at the Great Scott. The Strongbow did not disappoint, and soon it was time for a SoCo and lime. What a delicious evening. Great Scott is known for phenomenal musical entertainment on most nights, and I highly recommend you make a voyage to this hot spot on the corner of Harvard Avenue. Stick to nights with scheduled performances, as it is typically a bit on the dead side otherwise, unless that is your thing. If you love music, love dancing, and enjoy drinking in a friendly atmosphere, Great Scott is the place for you. A-
