If you're looking to have a good time with a good group of people, Big City is the place to be. The best part? There's no carding at the door, only at the bar itself. This means you can finally go out with your non-21-year-old roommate and still be able to get alcohol. I was beginning to think heaven didn't exist.
Honestly though, Big City is a great place to spend a Thursday night. Usually bars - like White Horse, which is right down the road - have long lines to get in. Big City doesn't, which gives it momentum from the get-go. With a relaxing vibe, there's also no need to get dressed up - jeans and a polo shirt will work just fine for girls or guys. However, Big City is also a nice enough place where girls can throw on a cute shirt with some heels without looking like freshmen. (I know you know what I mean.)
Don't get too fancy, because it may impair your pool-playing ability. In two lounge rooms located on either side of the bar, pool tables are scattered about, making it a nice place to sit and talk with friends or get out of your chair and get competitive. (Fun game: See how many beers it takes to get your shot completely right.) Lots of seating is available throughout, which is always a perk. Whether you prefer to sit at the bar or in several alcoves, you have your pick of table and location.
Ultimately, Big City is known for its beer. With a great selection to choose from, it has all the beers anyone could ask for. Table taps are also available. Their sangria - $4.99 by the glass and $14.99 by the pitcher - is also tasty and refreshing. Come hungry and leave happy; their finger food is great to nibble on with your draft and definitely fills you up.
Big City's only downfall is the overly crowded bar. To get a drink is a 10-minute wait. My suggestion: When you sit down at a table, get a waitress right away and order your drinks so that you can enjoy them without an endless wait.
By and large, Big City proved that fun can be had by all. B+
