On Thursday night, I was in the mood for a dance party. Given the night of the week, there was only one option: Wonder Bar. Departing Boston College and arriving with plenty of time to spare before the doors opened, my friends and I were forced to wait in line. The line may have been the most amusing portion of the evening, as countless rumors were spread across the line about the lack of an open bar and other such causes for concern. After an hour, the line finally began to move. Once inside, it was an ambush of bright colors and loud music - the perfect recipe for a fabulous dance party.

The first order of business was selecting the beverage for the evening. Wonder Bar screams cocktail, so I had no choice but to give into temptation. My cosmopolitan arrived in its pretty pink glory, about 20 minutes after ordering. Though it was delicious, with just the right amount of tang supplied by the Absolut Citron, 20 minutes is just too long to wait for a drink.

After a few sips, the DJ started to play some decent tunes, and the dance party began. The rest of the evening was spent on the dance floor, busting moves to some classic hip-hop favorites. While the DJ had great song selection, he did a poor job of creating a flow between the tracks. This created an awkward silence on the crowded dance floor between songs.

Wonder Bar is clearly the place to see and be seen. Almost the entire bar was filled with BC students, making it a great place to catch up with those you haven't seen in a while. With a fun atmosphere, and plenty of beverages to choose from, Wonder Bar makes for a fabulous, yet expensive evening. B
