Uh-oh, we've got a liar-liar-pants-on-fire situation. This Christmas, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and American Idol star Carrie Underwood were spotted looking quite cozy on the sidelines of his football game. But in February, they both denied being an item. Romo said, "She's a very nice, sweet girl I care for, and whoever ends up with her will be a very lucky guy." Now the country starlet seems to be singing a different tune. Saturday night, Romo celebrated his 27th birthday in Dallas and Underwood was right by his side the whole time. They showed up together at Ghostbar and were joined by nearly the entire Cowboys team. An insider told People magazine that "they were laughing, singing together, holding hands" in the DJ booth. Later that night, Underwood led the entire club in singing "Happy Birthday" to Tony. When asked if this was more than just a friendly karaoke session, Underwood's rep claimed, "they are definitely not boyfriend/girlfriend. It's very casual at this point." Actions, however, speak louder than words. Tuesday, pictures surfaced of the pair in the booth both dancing quite close to each other. This is not the first time the two have been seen together since their Christmas Day rendez-vous, but it is the first time the couple has been snapped in action.
One couple that will not be spending any more time together, except in a courtroom, is Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. Thursday afternoon, TMZ.com released a message Baldwin left for his 12-year-old daughter, Ireland. He yelled at her for avoiding him on the phone, claiming he knew this was her mother's fault. It was a very long tirade in which Baldwin referred to his own daughter as a "vile pig" and claimed he would come to California on the 20th to straighten her out. Jeez, I thought my father was crazy, but I guess I have it easy. After the tape made the rounds on the Internet, Baldwin released a statement on his Web site in which he said, "I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand." He also expressed regret for having the tape released against court order, as many believe his ex-wife Basinger purposefully handed the tape to TMZ.com. Baldwin's attorney explained that the tape "had to have been released by someone from Kim's side." The Academy Award-winning actress denies leaking the voicemail and claims that it was in no way sealed under a court order. In a statement released Monday, Basinger said, "everybody is always asking why this custody battle has been going on for so many years and now they have the answer." In response to "the media attention," Basinger hired security "in order to allow Ireland to maintain her regular routine."
