We have fond memories of him from Dawson's Creek and his time on the silver screen as Charlie Conway in one of our favorite childhood series - The Mighty Ducks. In the last decade, Jackson was a popular teen star, with a career that appeared to be going nowhere but up. But like most child stars, Jackson has failed to find work since his breakthrough role on Creek ended in 2003.

Seeing Jackson back on television in Fringe reminds us how much we missed him. In the thriller, which is created by J.J. Abrams of Lost fame, he plays Pete Bishop, a civilian consultant to the FBI who overlooks his father, Walter, a mad scientist who has been institutionalized. Pete shares in his genius, which curses his livelihood.

In her review of Fringe in last week's edition of The Scene, Assoc. Arts & Review editor and TV critic Blair Thill praised the actor, writing, "Jackson shows off his mature acting chops as the deeply troubled son who wants to find his own identity." This just may be his second shot at the fame he almost had.
