Mar. 2, 1992: Former State Police Officer Morse named Chief of BCPD

Former Mass. State Police officer Robert Morse replaced Kenneth Watson as Chief of the Boston College Police Department (BCPD). Before his appointment as chief of BCPD, Morse served in the state police department for 26 years. His duties included research and development, internal affairs, and public relations. Morse planned to launch a set of safey initiatives at BC. Morse also said he wanted to hold open meetings addressing complaints of the University and community. "I plan to be very active on this campus," said Morse. "I feel it is very important that I make myself available to the students in order to effectively meet their needs and concerns."
