Nick Fuller-Googins, A&S ´06, was arrested Sunday for disorderly conduct, vandalism, and assault on a police officer. He´s shown here addressing a crowd at a Global Justice Project event in 2004.

A former candidate for the second-highest position in the Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UGBC) was arrested Sunday after allegedly assaulting a BC police officer and attempting to incite a crowd of students to disobey police orders to leave a party.

Nick Fuller-Googins, who unsuccessfully ran for UGBC vice president earlier this year and A&S '06, was attending a "block party" at Mods 13 A and B on Sunday around 2 a.m. when officers from the BC Police Department showed up to break up the crowd of nearly 70 students. While parties may continue indoors during Senior Week, outdoor events must end at 2 a.m.

Upon seeing the officers, Fuller-Googins began shouting, "No pigs allowed. BC pigs go home," according to a police report. He then attempted to incite the crowd to disobey police orders, the report continued, by yelling, "BC pigs suck. You don't have to leave, come on and stay your ground.

"Tell them," he continued to shout, according to the report. "We won't leave."

Fuller-Googins, who was drinking from an open container of Natural Light beer, was approached by Lt. Fred Winslow and officer Fred Glynn and asked to present photo identification. Though he had both his Eagle-One card and Massachusetts license in hand, Fuller-Googins told the officers he was having problems finding the requested identification.

Uncooperative and visibly intoxicated, the report noted, Fuller-Googins was handcuffed and directed to a BCPD patrol car, at which point he allegedly purposely went limp and refused to walk to the vehicle.

Before being placed in the cruiser's backseat, Fuller-Googins kicked Glynn in the knee, causing his leg to buckle and give way, according to the police report.

Fuller-Googins also kicked through the car's back window while it was parked outside of BCPD headquarters. Shards of flying glass cut Fuller-Googins hands during the break, but he refused medical attention.

He also refused to be finger printed and photographed, as per arrest procedures. He was taken to Boston Police's District 14 station for booking and holding.

Fuller-Googins, who didn't return a call for comment, was charged with disorderly conduct, vandalism (felony), and assault and battery on a police officer. He'll be arraigned in Brighton District Court on June 1.

Fuller-Googins was also immediately suspended from the University and will have to meet with the Office of the Dean for Student Development before being allowed to return to BC. He'll likely face further University sanctions following the hearing.

Sunday's arrest was at least the third in a string of public incidents involving Fuller-Googins and University officials. In April, he sparred with several high-ranking administrators over the Global Justice Project's protests of ROTC recruiting on campus.

In September, Fuller-Googins was put on University probation after initially refusing to stop obstructing access to a Career Fair table.

Fuller-Googins and other GJP members, who were protesting the presence of weapons manufacturer Raytheon on campus, didn't receive permission to demonstrate at the fair in Conte Forum.
