The atmosphere surrounding Boston College's inaugural football game in the Atlantic Coast Conference was raised to an even crazier level Sunday as ESPN officials announced that the College GameDay crew will be on campus this Saturday.
ESPN's wildly popular college football pregame show will be broadcast live from BC from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
"This will be a real treat for all our fans and especially for our students," Athletic Director Gene DeFilippo said in a released statement. "All college football fans want GameDay to come to their campus. This is a real tribute to our football team and coaching staff. We're very excited."
Location and stage setup will be determined tomorrow when ESPN's broadcast crew arrives to survey the campus for possible sites. Possibilities include O'Neill Plaza, near the Flynn Recreation Complex, and the newly finished area outside of Conte Forum.
Throughout the day Corso, Herbstreit, and Fowler will report live from Alumni Stadium for halftime reports and pregame shows for nationally broadcast games.
ESPN will also broadcast the game live at 7:45 p.m. Calling the game will be former Notre Dame head coach Bob Davie, Ron Franklin, and Holly Rowe.
