This Saturday the Boston College Graduate Management Association (GMA) is holding the first annual BC MBA Challenge, a 5K-road race around the BC campus.

According to Allison Antalek, GMA Vice-President of Events and CGSOM ’00, “The day is designed to bring the students, faculty and alumni of top MBA programs, as well as members of the Boston community, together in a social atmosphere of friendly competition.”

Even though the MBA Challenge is geared towards other management schools, the race is open to all members of the community.

“We have invited people from about 45 different graduate management schools in the Northeast to participate. What we are trying to start is a fun competition similar to the Corporate Challenge that is held downtown,” Antalek said.

According to Antalek, approximately 250 participants are expected at the event.

Registration for the event is $12 in advance or $15 the day of the event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Jimmy Fund. Participants may register outside Conte Forum the day of the event or download the registration form from the MBA Challenge Web site (www.geocities.com/bcmbachallenge). Representatives from the GMA will be in McElroy every day this week from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to accept registration forms.
