Ever wonder where that watch you forgot at the Plex went?

It might be up for the bidding at the annual Boston College Police Department's (BCPD) Auction on Saturday in the Cabaret Room in Vanderslice Hall.

Starting with previews at 8:30 a.m., the auction will feature all the unclaimed, found, or abandoned items BCPD has accumulated over the past year.

"This is just a way of disposing of the property. Instead of just throwing them away, we just auction it off," said Sgt. Kevin Croke, one of the event's main organizers.

All proceeds will go to The Jimmy Fund, a local charity that supports breast cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

"Myself and the other officers involved with property claims try to come up with a different charity each year," he said.

Approximately 100 items will be up for auction, including watches, jewelry, and bikes.

Last year, the auction made around $3,000 from bidders on the found and abandoned items.

Croke said BCPD has yet to encounter someone who attended the auction and has seen his abandoned property up for sale.

"If that were to happen, we would try to find some way to resolve the situation," he said.

Anyone can bid for the items, including students.

"I'd like the students to come and participate," said Croke.
