Back in 2011, a little-known musical, The Book of Mormon, debuted on Broadway in New York City, and has since then taken the world by storm and skyrocketed its star, Andrew Rannells, to fame. Rannells played the lead, Elder Price, and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. Now, having conquered the theater world—Rannells’ Broadway credits include Jersey Boys and HairsprayRannells has set his sights on television. He has done various voice work for television shows through the years, but 2012 has been his best year by far. He was first seen in the HBO comedy Girls, and now he stars opposite Justin Bartha as a one half of a gay couple who wants to start a family with the help of a surrogate in The New Normal. Viewers may also remember Rannells as the stripper from the girlfriend comedy Bachelorette earlier this year. According to IMDb, he is also rumored to reprise his role of Elder Price in a film version of The Book of Mormon.
