Organization targets BC as hot spot for recruiting grads

Some Boston College graduates are giving up office space on Wall Street for classrooms in the Bronx in hopes of effecting the systematic changes needed to eliminate educational inequity. An increasing number of BC students are matriculating in Teach For America (TFA), a movement of individuals committed to achieving educational excellence in the United States.
Eliminating the one-on-one atmosphere makes process easier

Every school year begins with students busy with the process of moving into residence halls. Some freshmen travel through the gates of Upper Campus, while others are directed a mile down the road to Newton. Some gloat about living on Lower Campus as sophomores.

Q: Why did you join Teach For America? A: I had an amazing experience my sophomore year in the PULSE program volunteering at the Lee School located in Dorchester. I was disturbed by much of what I saw there, including minimal resources and burned out teachers.
