BC's retreats, like Halftime, and 48 Hours, offer an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday student life
By Vicki Ekstrom
48 Hours. Kairos. Halftime. There are so many different retreat opportunities here at Boston College that sometimes it is difficult to keep them all straight.

It is 2 a.m. on a Friday night. A young Boston College student, delirious with joy at having caught the last precious Comm Ave. bus of the evening, literally packs herself into the dank, beer-reeking bus along with about 70 other jolly characters.
Board Games: Monopoly vs. Scrabble
By Michelle Sanders / Heights Senior Staff
Classic board games are the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon or a family reunion. Each game has its own charms, but in the end, it's all about the competition. Who will win the ultimate game? There are certain things you don't expect from an English professor. You don't expect to find a rubber chicken as decoration in her office, or deliveries of live crickets to the department. But with Professor Mary Crane, you get the unexpected. She brings a lot of color to the English department and to her classroom because she is so original in so much of what she does.

Practice it in front of the mirror. Trust me, all the girls will love it. Aries (March 20 - April 19): Mardi Gras this week could seriously damage you.

Alright, pop quiz time - You are walking in the Dustbowl and a few feet in front of you is a girl you recognize from class. You talk to her occasionally about assignments and stuff, but otherwise have never acknowledged her existence outside of class. Do you (A) smile and say hello as you pass each other or (B) pretend you don't know her and walk right on by.

"I have, like, no money." There's truly nothing I love to hear more than a friend begging me to spot her cab fare or pay for his pizza delivery, especially when I know the likelihood of seeing payback is slim to none. Money burns a hole in the pockets of college students, and it is a reputation that credit card peddlers, bartenders, and restaurants with free delivery are more than happy to take advantage of.
