When asked about this weekend's match-up with Wake Forest, head coach Tom O'Brien was fairly straightforward. "Well, we've got our nemesis coming to town," O'Brien said of the Demon Deacons, who have beaten No. 14 Boston College the past two years.

The women's tennis team at Boston College has recently acquired four new members. Most of their names may be hard to say, but each is an extremely tough competitor. They are a dominating new group who are looking to bring BC's tennis program into the future.

Despite losing to Dartmouth (4-1) in Hanover, N.H. and dropping to 2-2 in its conference, the Boston College rugby team secured itself a spot in the playoffs. BC played Dartmouth tough in the first half, keeping the game tight. Hurt by the absence of starters Kevin Brady, Steve Petteruti, and Sean Hanel, the Eagles were forced to shift positions and fill the gaps in their roster.

They filed in, one by one, making their way to the pews like lines skating to the bench on the ice. Dressed in suits, hair combed, and pads off, they came without the maroon and gold sweaters that they will wear this weekend. It was the hockey team's opening Mass in St. Mary's Chapel, the annual beginning of its season.

Hockey is back, whether you knew, cared, or couldn't be bothered. With a revamped set of rules to open up the ice and increase the speed of play, as well as a salary cap to create parity, the "new" NHL is designed to bring former bottom dwellers to the forefront of the league.
