Everything's coming up in contrasts for the MFA's College Night tonight
By Alex Sharp / Heights Senior Staff
It's always been possible for Boston College students to get into the Museum of Fine Arts for free. But now the museum's offering a little extra incentive: Oreos. Well, Oreos, music, movies, and amazing art. Tonight the MFA is hosting the first College Night at the museum since the '80s, an event running in conjunction with the Ansel Adams exhibit now on view.

9:45 a.m.: Wake to another beautiful, cloudy, drizzling day of Boston autumn and contemplate plans to follow through with this pumpkin festival or waste another weekend day. Another day of getting the party on early sounds enticing, but not today. Have already made some super huge plans - that is, the Life is Good Pumpkin Festival.

Go out and buy The Big Lebowski: Collector's Edition. This is one of those movies that can afford to be watched over and over again - you will always find something new at each sitting. Like many great movies, it received minimal success at the box office and was shunned by critics.

3.5 Stars Various artists This Bird Has Flown (Razor and Tie) When The Beatles released Rubber Soul in 1965, it was received with much acclaim and enthusiasm. The album represented a shift in The Beatles style of music. On Rubber Soul, the "Fab Four" embarked upon much more mature lyrics and some unique instrumental use, drastically differing from their early pop hits and mainstream love songs.

5 Stars Aerosmith Rockin' the Joint (Sony) The Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas provided a unique venue for Aerosmith to make a high-octane, turbo-charged live album, Rockin' The Joint. Although they were recorded during the band's 2002 tour, the 11 cuts selected for the album from a 24-song set sound just as fresh as the day they were played, showing why live records like this have made Aerosmith a true rock legend.

King's is more than just your typical bar. It's an entertainment complex in the same vein as Jillian's. Besides the bars within King's, there are also pool tables and a very modern bowling alley.

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with P. F. Chang's. When discussing this amazing restaurant I refer to it as "Changers," as if it's a little brother or professor I know well and thus can bestow a nickname upon.

The mimosa Ingredients: orange juice champagne Some mornings call for that extra special something. For the morning when a cup of coffee and a cold shower just won't cut it, put your faith in a mimosa. Monday mornings will never be the same. The mimosa is a mixture of your run-of-the-mill orange juice with any bottle of champagne you can get your hands on.

I'm torn over Friday's open letter in The Allston-Brighton TAB. As a sociable off-campus resident, I like to think my fellow students and I are capable of and deserve to host responsible gatherings. But then I remember that while it may seem as though everywhere from Lake Street to Leamington has one-year rentals, we are living in a community with families and professionals.

Too many cooks spoil the broth. Jay-Z's Black Album features 13 beats from 10 different producers, resulting in a schizophrenic compilation of assorted radio singles instead of a cohesive album. It's hard to argue with Mos Def and Talib Kweli when they call themselves the best duo in hip-hop, but they still rely on outside collaboration for their beats.

Since Halloween is this weekend (sort of), I thought it was time for some party ideas that people could actually use. Plus, I have a midterm to study for so I don't have time to be really sarcastic. (OK, I always have time to be really sarcastic). In case you, too, have had way too many midterms and not enough time to procrastinate and consider what to be for Halloween, here are some suggestions.

While last year's Monster Jam was headlined by veteran rappers like Fabolous, Fat Joe, Juvenile, and Jadakiss, this year's annual Jam'n 94.5 Halloween concert featured mostly up-and-coming reggae and R&B stars with little more than one major radio hit under their belts.
