BC set to undergo vast changes

Boston College released its strategic campus Master Plan for the first time to the general community yesterday, concluding months of planning, assessment, and discussion from administrators, faculty, staff, students, government officials, and neighbors. It marks the most ambitious construction project in BC's history.
Freshmen guide discarded for content

Citing "disappointment" about a section of an opinion column perceived as putting Freshman Orientation in a negative light, the Office of First Year Experience removed and discarded thousands of copies of The Guide, a special 20-page edition of The Heights that had been published in early June and distributed at the first session of Freshman Orientation.

Boston Police Department District 14 has issued a community alert following an assault and armed robbery on Sept. 1. According to a report filed by two victims, three males dressed in dark clothing assaulted them at Rogers Park, located near the end of Lake Street in Brighton.

Underage drinkers will miss out on Mods

On the eve of Boston College's second year as an ACC school, The Office of Residential Life has significantly changed its policy for the Mods during special events, especially football games, Marathon Monday, and Senior Week. Beginning this semester, ResLife will begin enforcing a "no one under 21" policy during football games, Marathon Monday, Senior Week, and any other special event.

The popularity of Boston College, to which last year's record 26,500 applicants are a testament, continues to grow, as an August edition of Newsweek has listed BC as one of the "New Ivies." A designation bestowed based on selectivity, academic rigor, and interviews with faculty, staff, and students, the "New Ivies" are schools considered to be comparable to the Ivy League institutions themselves.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, an intoxicated student broke into and entered Murray House. Kicking down a safety glass window in the front door, he sustained grave injuries that would have been life-threatening had he not been found by the Boston College Police Department.
