The new face of the Democrats If you're looking for the new face of the Democratic Party, look at Jim Webb. No one symbolizes the new class of Democrats better than this junior senator from Virginia. A political junkie would have known of Webb for some time, since he's a prolific author who served as Secretary of the Navy in the Reagan administration.

The Showdown was a spectacular affair. All groups should be congratulated for putting on a great show. There can only be one winner, however, and it is a shame that the aftermath of the Showdown has been characterized by bickering and poor sportsmanship, instead of congratulations.

The core curriculum is the pride of a Jesuit institution like Boston College. When I applied to this school, my parents had me convinced that a core curriculum would serve as a strong background for anything I decided to study. I believed that I would be learning skills in these classes that would be applicable and relevant to my life and my goals.
