Last week, I had a rather disconcerting experience with the group known as the Global Justice Project. I attended an open "organizational" meeting the group hosted March 12 in Devlin 309 after receiving an e-mail notification. Of particular interest to me was the discussion of an upcoming "street theatre" event, involving a "Boston to Palestine" representative.

Rudy Giuliani is a conservative. In fact, it's my contention that despite some shortcomings, he is the best example today of a results-oriented, conservative executive. Giuliani demonstrated that in his own words: "the social contract is reciprocal. For every right there's an obligation, for every privilege there's a duty.

The madness started a tad earlier than March this year for the University of Illinois. In fact, it started on Feb. 21 when the school's mascot, Chief Illiniwek, was retired to comply with NCAA guidelines. The whole saga is sad evidence of how entrenched the grievance lobby has become in our schools and in our culture.

"You're never going to believe this - two freshmen have my boyfriend listed as one of their interests on Facebook." My friend was neither offended nor threatened, simply astonished that two girls could post the name of an upperclassman they had never met for the entire online community to read.
