After weeks and weeks of lectures, copious note-taking, and nights of less than two hours of sleep, we are finally approaching the climax of it all: final exams.
I'm absolutely terrified.
After years in middle and high school when studying for finals consisted of one night of skimming through my notes for a few hours (if that) and hoping the exam was not remotely difficult, I feel like I'm about to get hit by the locomotive that is a college final exam.
That being said, I'm not going to go down without a fight. I have created my schedule for the next week and a half before exams begin, and there is no doubt in my mind that they will be spent in the most productive possible way.
Dec. 3: Forty-seven years ago today, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the noble and inspiring masterpiece, aired for the first time. Only a scrooge wouldn't watch this film and I'm no scrooge. Studying can wait.
Dec. 4: I will be donating blood at Boston College's blood drive today. Due to the harrowing physical and mental tolls that I will be forced to endure, I will be in no shape to study. Furthermore, there is a BC basketball game on this night. There's still plenty of time, though.
Dec. 5: Seventy-four years ago, Congress passed the 21st amendment, which repealed Prohibition. I feel that I must honor the repeal of Prohibition by … well, let's just say there probably won't be much studying going on this night. Or the next morning. Sorry, Mom and Dad.
Dec. 6: I don't know about the rest of you, but on any night when a new episode of Scrubs is on, I clear my schedule, regardless of what I have the next day. In hindsight, that's probably why I performed miserably on that calculus test I had last Friday. Such is life.
Dec. 7: A date that will live in infamy. In response to this horrible historic event, I will be boycotting everything that is popular in Japan. Except video games. And baseball. Actually, I think I'm supposed to be meeting someone for sushi that day, too. Everything else, though, will not be a part of my life that day, including studying.
