If you happened to hear the collective male sigh this weekend, it was due to the fact the blonde bombshell Scarlett Johansson is officially off the market. The actress and actor Ryan Reynolds tied the knot this weekend in Vancouver, Canada. The ceremony took place Saturday evening at a wilderness resort. Only close friends and family attended, including Scarlett's mother, Melanie, and brother, Adrian. The couple began dating in the spring of 2007 after Reynolds split from singer Alanis Morissette. An engagement was announced on May 5 and later that day, Johansson flashed her three-carat diamond ring at the Met Costume Ball Gala.
Early Saturday evening, actress Heather Locklear was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Santa Barbara County. At around 4:30 p.m. a witness saw Locklear "driving erratically while leaving a parking lot in Montecito," Highway Patrol spokesman Tom Marshall told People. The witness then spotted Locklear stopped on the highway getting out of her car. The police responded and found Locklear inside of her car, which was partially blocking the highway. Since Locklear looked disoriented - if you don't know how this looks, check out her mug shot - a drug and alcohol test was administered. "We believe Locklear was under the influence of prescription medication," Marshall stated. Locklear was booked around 7 p.m. and her publicist had no comment.
In this week's heartwarming story, the late Heath Ledger's family talked about their plan to donate his entire estate to Ledger's daughter, Matilda Rose. Ledger's will, which was signed before his daughter was born, left his fortune to his parents and sisters. Despite rumors that Matilda would be left with nothing, Ledger's father says this was never true. He told Australia's Sunday Times, "There was never any question about the fact that Heath's estate would go to Matilda. We are very close to Michelle (Williams) and Matilda." Kim told People that he and wife Ines just returned from a two-week visit to New York. "It was lovely. We are all just one family." US Weekly reports that both Williams' and Ledger's families have contributed to a scholarship program that helps rising Australian actors, to honor the memory of Heath. The first beneficiary of the program will be announced by mid-February.
