The Crisis Of BC’s Art Spaces

The closing of the Spring Student Art Show last Thursday in the basement of Bapst Library has left the gallery empty, and potentially, closed for good. A short walk through the University’s academic areas gives an unflattering perspective on Boston College’s treatment of student work in its recent expansion.

Established in 1919 as Boston College’s student newspaper, The Heights has been both editorially and financially independent from the University since 1971. The Heights serves the students, faculty, and staff of the Boston College community, as well as our neighbors in Chestnut Hill, Newton, and the Allston-Brighton area.
