“Not everyone’s in a wheelchair, but that doesn’t mean I’m not struggling,” Julia Arnese, director of CSD and MCAS ’20, said.
Students discussed their experience with media representation of disabled people. They found that these representations are often of the “token person in the wheelchair,” which is a limited image of what disability looks like.
CSD is working to improve Eagle Escort and make class syllabi available to students earlier in the year.
