Boston College reestablished the Office of the Dean of Students (DOS) this year after its dissolution in 2019, consolidating four offices and reintroducing the dean of students position.
“Boston College has a socially conservative and Roman Catholic identity, which only contributes to a culture of anti-queerness, which can exacerbate this problem,” said Hugh McMahon, UGBC Senator and MCAS ’20.
“We want students to feel that they’re getting the personal attention that they deserve.”
Dean of Students Thomas Mogan held a dinner for students in his home, as part of the Dinner with the Dean program.
New Dean of Students Thomas Mogan is trying to support for students outside the classroom, rather than just make his position about student discipline.
