Boston College men’s soccer was eliminated from the ACC Tournament by Virginia Tech on Monday night after a 1–0 loss.
The Eagles came out sluggish in their first game in over 500 days but Stefan Sigurdarson scored twice in the second half to down the Terriers.
North Carolina scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the second half, breaking the scoreless tie and handing the Eagles their second shutout loss of the 2018 campaign.
Simon Enstrom scored in the second minute—off of an assist from goaltender Antonio Chavez-Borelli nonetheless—and the Eagles escaped another one-goal decision with a win.
Bob Thompson—who, to this day, ranks in the top 15 in all three of the Eagles’ major offensive categories—is once again returning to Chestnut Hill to coach BC, only this time as the team’s associate head coach.
