Boston College softball lost both games of a doubleheader 4-7 and 0-9 on Friday to kick off a four-game series against Pitt.
BC ace Susannah Anderson gave up three early runs and the Eagles fell to a 1-3 record on the season’s opening weekend.
The Eagles struggled mightily against No. 1 Florida State, as the Seminoles held BC scoreless the entire weekend and swept BC in Tallahassee.
After falling behind 3-0 in the second inning, BC rallied to tie it and eventually beat the visiting Orange thanks to a RBI single in the seventh from Emme Martinez.
The Eagles emerged winners against Tennessee Chattanooga and Central Michigan, but also blew a lead against Penn State and fell to St. Johns and Georgia Southern at the Madeira Beach tournament in Florida.
Despite rain cancelling one of their three scheduled games, the Eagles played twice and split against East Carolina and No. 18 James Madison.
