Boston has historically been a city filled with students. Every year, over 250,000 people attend the 40 colleges and universities in the Boston area. With such a large proportion of the population being so young, the city has been infused with a plethora of new ideas, especially in the technology sector. To date, Boston has seen a great increase in attention paid to its innovation hub, with record numbers of venture capital investments in 2014. Fueled by high-profile success stories and coupled with the presence of startup accelerators like Techstars Boston and business-centered universities like Babson, the sheer number of entrepreneurs has increased significantly. Over the past few years, Boston College has continued to rise through the ranks of startup powerhouses.
