“My biggest form of advocacy and social justice, I believe, is my skill of oratory,” she said. “That’s something I’m skilled in and something I take pride in, and I try my best to use my voice to bring light to, … [and] to amplify the experiences of people who look like me and don’t look like me.”
“We’ve always taught that there are just two ways to teach a religion,” he said. “One is to teach it objectively, … not attempting in any way to influence people’s lives or their values. The other is to teach it in such a way that people embrace it and become it. But there’s a middle ground between the objective teaching and the catechizing.”
“That’s the whole aspect of these blind double dates,” he said. “It’s supposed to take the pressure off a little bit. If you and a friend are going together, then it’s a little bit easier than a one-on-one experience.”
“Jebbit is a platform that lets big brands create interactive experiences without needing to have any coding knowledge or design experience,” Coburn said. “You might go to L’Oréal’s website and see a quiz to find the right product for you … all of these quizzes and other interactive experiences are built on [Jebbit], and you can put them anywhere you want.”
With only a microwave, I’ve tested and compiled these recipes using simple ingredients easily found on or near campus or already in your fridge. Each recipe is highly customizable and easy to make in a larger batch. So, let’s get cooking!
“I never could feel sorry for myself as a result, because it was not really about what I had lost as much as it was about what I had the responsibility to give,” he said.
To see where Boston College–employed students spend their money, I reached out to 14 different students who are actively working on campus to hear the ways in which they spend their cash. The question I asked my participants was simple: “Where does the money from your paycheck go?”
It would be difficult to find a Boston College student who, by the end of their four years, has never taken a trip to one of Chestnut Hill’s local grocery stores. For the majority of these students, the art of grocery shopping is one that is tough to master and sometimes takes years to perfect.
“It makes me really uncomfortable because it doesn’t seem right for people like that to be here and around us when they directly are trying to make other people’s lives uncomfortable or unbearable,” Gonzalez said.
I, like many college-aged women, have not purchased a bottle of dairy milk in my entire adult life. My cups of coffee are topped off solely with almond milk, oat milk, or on the rare occasion, soy milk. But, I have one exception to this rule: my raspberry scones.
