It hit me for the first time this week that come the end of the semester, I’d actually be going home—and I felt sick. But, at the same exact time, I’m homesick too. There’s a three-way-tug-of-war among loving where I am, missing home, and also being scared to go back home.

Thumbs Up: Election Results:
Regardless of who you voted for, we can all agree that this five day election-marathon was emotionally exhausting. The back and forth between multiple news sources made for an extremely stressful election and constant tab-refreshing. Final election results mean we can officially say goodbye to this century-long week in which every email started with, “In these trying times.”

Thumbs Up: Voting! We cannot stress this enough: Please vote! Your voice matters, and this may be one of the most important elections in our lifetime. If you can vote, then it is your civic responsibility to do so. If you’re voting in-person on election day in Massachusetts, polls open anywhere from 5:45 am to 7 am and close at 8 pm.

Originalism is a deeply partisan, political ideology that shrouds itself in the language of protecting the Constitution and democracy through serious intellectual rigidity. With Barrett now confirmed to the Supreme Court, the convincing, yet hollow, rhetoric of this formidable ideology on the court will be a force to contend with if we want to protect civil and human rights in America.
