Family and friends of Pete Frates, BC ’07, in addition to other members of the BC community, gathered in St. Ignatius on Friday to celebrate Frates’ life.
After raising over $220 million dollars towards fighting ALS through the Ice Bucket Challenge alone, the Frates family has been joined by close friends that are determined to keep the mission going strong.
Florida State used four run fifth inning to retake the lead and never looked back, outing BC 12-7 in the seventh rendition of the ALS Awareness Game.
Birdball couldn’t handle the power hitting of Will Craig and the consistency of Nate Mondou in a loss to the Demon Deacons.
“The retirement of Frates’ jersey is a worthwhile celebration of the good he has done while also raising more awareness for the cause he still fights for.”
Despite the unbelievable success of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Pete Frates and his family aren’t done fighting for awareness and research for the disease.
