In the wake of the Boston College’s Clery Act Crime statistics being released on Sept. 28, the administration has reiterated its support for students reporting any concerning incident to the BC Police Department, student affairs administrators, or the Dean of Students’ office.
The economics major was reclassified as a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) program from a social science this summer. The major was discontinued and replaced by Econometrics and Quantitative Economics (EQE) which will serve as its new name.

Happy Valley is opening a marijuana dispensary in East Boston and, if the sale goes through, plans to convert Mary Ann’s to a dispensary as well. Boston College officials have indicated their opposition to the proposed sale, as have Cleveland Circle merchants.

The pending lawsuit against Boston College has had a jury trial date and pretrial hearing date set. The trial is set for April 22, 2019, while a pretrial hearing to hash out the scope of the case has been set for March 7, 2019.
The Boston College psychology department announced a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience, the first degrees for which will be awarded to the Class of 2020 and may be declared as early as Sept. 1, 2019 by the classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022.
